Text Compositions
This is a composition of text giving the illusion of depth. I used a sans serif font for this piece, and I got the idea for it from our generation's extreme negligence of the environment; the white space in the top right of the image represents the hole in the ozone layer, and the o's represent the oxygen leaving the atmosphere.
This is a composition of text as texture. I used a sans serif font for this piece, and I got the idea for it from the increased exposure to violence in today's society; the letter x is used here in substitution of scratches or stitches. This particular work can be interpreted as a representation of abuse in the home, where new wounds can appear before other ones have finished healing, as seen from the different opacities.
This is a composition of text as form. I used a serif font for this piece, and I got the idea from the encroachment of civilization upon the natural world. The pattern created with the letter p represents a tree, and the two upside down l's on either side resemble buildings.
This is a composition of text as line. I used a sans serif font for this piece, and I got the idea for it from the theory of Six Degrees of Separation. Each intersection between the x's represents a link between two different people.
This is a composition of text repetition. I used a sans serif font for this piece, and I got the idea for it from the restrictions that are placed upon us as children and that fade as we get older. The repetition of the letters b and d appear to be chains, and the decreasing opacities represent the fading restrictions.

Favorite Harvey Card
My favorite Harvey card is "Fantasize". When I draw original characters of my own design, I like to give them their own unique backstory.
I often find myself either redoing or discarding ideas when it comes to my characters. In the latter case I change everything about them, including name, personality, and of course backstory.
Whenever I create a new character, the work I have put in endears me to them because I am customizing every aspect of their lives in their world. This experience is what keeps me drawing my own characters.
The Rule of Thirds
The Rule of Thirds refers to an imaginary grid drawn across a photo area that breaks the image into nine equal squares.
